Valley of Bewilderment

Here's a print I made using the hard-ground etching technique. It takes part in the project "The Conference of The Birds" inspired by the great Sufi master, Attar. This piece is called the valley of bewilderment.

Next comes the valley of bewilderment,
a place of pain and gnawing discontent –
each second you will sigh, and every breath
will be a sword to make you long for death;
